Richard Vanadio earned a B. M. Composition from Berklee School of Music and an M. A. T. Music Education from City College of New York. He has taught all ages both in group and solo instruction as well as summer camps in Theatre and Musical Reviews. For piano he use Schaum, Bastien, Alfred graded Studies as well as a theory and technique book. “I make it fun while still being in a learning environment.” He uses Bel Canto Technique for training of Voice as well as War Training and Solfegio books. He has experience teaching in keyboard labs for student groups and he is also able to teach percussion, eat training, theory, songwriting, and improvisation.

Richard is trained in the Kodaly Methodology and has a dual certification to teach in New Jersey and New York State. He’s worked within school settings and was selected as an all-state high school chorus. He’s also worked within special needs education and provided music programs for nursing homes. Professionally, Richard continues to work as a cantor for holiday and church services as a performing soloist with a three octave bass and tenor vocal range. He looks forward to sharing his diverse music experience with the PSNYC students.
