As a teacher, Melodie taught music theory, choral music and piano group classes at elementary schools and high schools before pursuing her master’s degree. During her studies at NYU, Melodie was an instructor on the adjunct piano faculty for two years, giving individual piano lessons to 86 NYU undergraduate students.

Other than a pianist, Melodie is also a composer, cellist and singer. When not playing classical music, she writes songs and improvises a lot on the keyboard. In 2015, her works were premiered at the Hong Kong Art Center, and were performed again at the Lee Hysan Hall (Hong Kong). She was Principal Cello with Diocesan Girls’ School Orchestra, and has received distinction as an Associate of Trinity College, London, in Cello Recital. She has made appearances at Casa Italiana, Deutsches Haus, Frederick Loewe Theatre, Yuri Recital Hall (Osaka, Japan), Conference and Exhibition Venue (Macau), Lee Hysan Concert Hall (Hong Kong), Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Hong Kong City Hall.
