Marcelo started his music studies at the age of 7 with the piano. At 15 he started playing the electric bass and the drums and started performing in some local clubs with some of his rock bands. After finishing high school, 18 years old, Marcelo moved to Sao Paulo and enrolled in Souza Lima music conservatory and then transferred to Berklee College of Music to finish his Dual Degree in Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production with a Minor on Visual Arts.

At Berklee, he focused his studies on Jazz/Classical performance and music production with emphasis on scoring for videos/advertisements. He was also able to study with great names like: Neal Smith, Tia Fuller, Dave Santoro, Jim Odgren, Ron Mahdi, Joe Carrier among others. Featured works include: Berklee Contemporary Orchestra at the Boston Symphony Orchestra Hall; Berklee World Strings Orchestra with Tigran Hamasyan; Recording with Kenny Werner and Peter Eldridge Lush Ballads Album; Performances with band Flightsuit.

At the age of 23, Marcelo now has earned his Dual Degree from Berklee College of Music and is living in New York where he works as a performer, teacher, composer and producer.
