Levan Shengelia was born in Samtredia, Republic of Georgia, and began his musical career at the age of four. One year later, Levan gave his first public performance and has since never looked back. Mr. Shengelia’s formal education began when he was accepted into the highly selective Talent School of Music through the Tbilisi State Conservatory of Music, and continued his studies through the Tbilisi State Conservatory where he received his BA and MM in Piano Performance graduating with honors. Mr. Shengelia was then awarded a full scholarship in composition at Hartt School of Music where he received his Artist Diploma. Mr. Shengelia has released four CD’s, and has performed his own compositions across the Americas, Europe, and Georgia. He was the grand prize winner in the Theatre International Festival for the best sound track, was the showcase at the Contemporary Music Festival, and was the Georgian Radio Prize Winner. In 2009, Levan came to the United States with a 01, extraordinary abilities, visa, and now holds his permanent resident card in the United States. Levan has an extraordinarily unique method of connecting and teaching all levels of students and performers. He is particularly skilled with group lessons, infusing his own composition knowhow and pianistic abilities to make learning fun and exciting for students from elementary to advanced levels. He has also taught, music theory and music literature, and enjoys imparting his own style, and musical approach to audiences and students alike.
