A native of Bulgaria, Eric Akif holds a B.A. degree from the Academy of Music and Dance, Plovdiv and a M.A. degree from Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Flushing Town Hall, Queens Auditorium in New York; Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center, Jomie Jazz Center, Keith-Albey Theatre in Huntington, WV; the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria and many other venues. As a jazz vocalist, Eric Akif has shared stage with American Jazz icons such as Myrna Lake, Tulivu-Donna Cumberbatch, Renee Manning, Donald Smith and Norman Pors. Currently, Mr. Akif is actively performing with jazz pianist Elaine Kim and guitarist John Henry Sheridan in New York City.
