Daniel J. Parente, born into a musical family in Montclair, New Jersey, possesses diverse musical talents and experiences. Danny is proficient at several instruments including bassoon, piano, guitar and bass, and is inspired by a broad range of musical genres from rock, fusion, jazz, and classical. As a pianist, he has been the recipient of Outstanding ratings for his piano performances by the NJ Music Educator Association. He received musical awards in high school and prestigious playing opportunities during his college years. Some highlights of his performance career include the Rite of Spring with the MSU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jeff Grogan. Danny has performed in numerous musical ensembles including rock and jazz bands, marching band, concert band, woodwind quintet and symphony orchestras.@ He also performed a Mozart Piano Quintet with renowned pianist Peter Serkin, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Clarinetist David Singer. Danny has also been a prolific songwriter, writing in styles ranging from soft acoustic rock to progressive hard rock/heavy metal.@ In December of 2011, Danny premiered and performed his first original full length concert piece gJourney Through a Dream, Piece for Bassoon and Pianoh during his Senior recital.@ Danny graduated with his Bachelorfs Degree in Music Performance at the Cali School of Music at Montclair State University in December, 2011.

Currently, as a member of experimental improvisatory group Tonal Emersion and Crosswinds woodwind quintet on bassoon, and progressive rock band Affinity and cover band on bass, Danny continues to display his gifts for performing and composing for a number of diverse musical settings. Danny also is active as a freelance bassoonist in the NYC metro area, and has most recently recorded on bassoon at Brooklynfs Rubber Tracks with singer songwriter Jennifer Sullivan. Danny regularly contributes his unique musical voice through original compositions, songs, and arrangements.

Additionally, Danny, an active instructor, teaches individual piano, guitar and bass lessons at TK Music studio in Nutley, NJ. He also teaches small group and individual lessons to preschool students in both Essex and Bergen Counties, as a part of the Piano School of New York organization. In addition, Danny serves as a consultant for the National Music Education Franchise School of Rock, arranging and transcribing scores and parts for their educational materials collection. He also maintains his own business (Musical Scribe) transcribing and arranging music for many songwriters and artists from cities across the country.@ Through the Musical Scribe business he was selected to be the copyist for the off Broadway musical “The Big Bank”.@ Danny had also written string arrangements for the Nashville based rock band, AutoDefiance, which they recently used in their recording.

Mr. Daniel Parente joined the faculty of the Piano School of NYC in 2011.
